Can antidepressants cause genital numbness? Please help.?
I have been on effexor for 3 months and STOPPED a year ago. Since then I find that my penis has become insensitive to sexual stimulation. I can still get erections, but the "sensations" are not the same. Any advice? Or has anyone experienced genital numbness with antidepressants or after stopping them? I’m worried my sensitivity will never return. I’ve been to docs they say its "in my head." or they cant help me.

I wouldn’t be the Effexor. You weren’t on it that long, and you’ve been off it for a year. Any side effects would be gone by now. Are you taking any other prescriptions or otc supplements? Many people think "natural" things they can buy in a health food store are safe, but they’re not.
You didn’t mention your age. If you’re over 40, it might just be a natural aging issue. (not to say once you hit 40 it’s all over, but you have to expect SOME changes I suppose)
I hope you tried more than one doctor. And maybe seeing a urologist would be better than a gp. Don’t try to make the connection to Effexor when you talk to the doctor. Just explain your sensation and problem.

I think you should be concerned! Its your penis! Have you had your 90 day blood sugar levels checked? Are you diabetic? PRediabetic?
Hawthorn berry with butcherbroom will help this issue. You can get it by calling Herb n More at 918 492 2400 and have it shipped to you. Have the store call Dr Wise if you have other questions. Tell them Stephanie sent you. You have nothing to lose and its a 18 $ product.

My first thoughts are diabetes or some nerve damage from maybe bike riding, etc. Find a more receptive physician, preferably a urologist
