During sexual activity, is it possible to contract a STD if both partners are “clean”?

Wed, Sep 2, 2009

General

Assuming that each individual engaging in the sexual activity has no STD from the day they were born up until now and also assuming that they have no sorts of STD within their family history.

Is it still possible to contract a STD?

Sure it is. Ever heard of Typhoid Mary? She carried the disease, but was immune to it and showed none of the symptoms, and thus carried it to many others through simple contact. But then, at the time, it was unclear how disease transferred from one to another and no one washed their hands, for example, to reduce the possibility of disease transfer. So, it is possible one or the other could simply be a carrier, who picked up the disease unknowingly and is passing it on to others, like Typhoid Mary, who ARE affected later and come down with a disease for no apparent reason. Typhoid Mary showed NO symptoms. It is an unlikely situation, but it is a possible situation. By the way, so-called "cold sores", are actually outbreaks of a form of HERPES… YMMV…

EDIT: Wow, so many answers in front of me saying it is impossible, who are WRONG. Twits. UNLIKELY, yes… IMPOSSIBLE, no. Remember, the herpes that causes cold sores IS closely related to the variety which is defined as a STD…

if neither of you have an STD, then neither of you can get an STD from each other.

NO! how do you contract what neither one of you have to share with the other?????? can you share a peanut butter sandwich if you don’t have one made to eat? Can you give a bite of the sandwich you don’t have made to some one else who is hungry for a bite of your sandwich?

If either one of you gave an STD to the other than some one is not telling the other one the truth! there is no other way for that to happen. Sorry.

If there is no std to begin with there is no std after.

It’s not immaculate infection. However some diseases may be passed to a baby from the mother, like AIDS. It may be possible for a person to be an undiagnosed carrier.

no, but you can get a UTI (urinary tract infection) or some other type of bacterial disease sexually. I personally have loved an unclean woman who had a yeast infection and it gave me a UTI. it felt as if i was pissing razor blades. OUCH!!!
