They are there to help you, not judge you, so don't be afraid to be completely honest. He may have given you reasoning behind your infection and tips to prevent it from happening again. Maybe he though it was an STI. Who knows. I have no medical knowledge but I would assume in this case it's nothing to freak over, but be sure to be honest with your doctor from now on.
