It will take longer than 2 weeks for the medication to help with your anxiety. Generally 4-6 weeks is when it will start helping (if it's the right drug for you, and trying it out fully is the only way to know). Also the side effects will diminish over a few weeks for many people. If they don't your doctor can switch you to a similar drug that doesn't have the same side effects for you.

It takes 1-2 months to see any changes from those types of meds. I would wait until at least a month before making any changes. The side effect may go away or they may not, if it is too much to deal with then talk to your doctor about changing but please do not just stop taking Lexapro, the rebound from stopping cold can be very dramatic.

It'll take four to six weeks for the Lexapro to reach its "fully effective" level in your system, but you should feel it starting to work after a couple weeks or so.

Some of the sexual side effects might go away with time; if it doesn't you can add Wellbutrin SR, and lower your Lexapro dose - that will make a huge difference!
