That’s how the so-called "sexual revolution" works. You start with tolerating the smaller, less shocking sexual perversions, like homosexuality. After that, if you are ok with homosexuality, why shouldn’t you be ok with anything else? After all, if it feels good, it must be ok, right?

I for one am glad that the thought-crime legislation has finally passed!

My only concern is the added expense of all the mind-reading helmets we’ll have to buy for all the judges and jurors across the country now

I would agree with the democrats on this one.

While you don’t need to approve of homosexuality, it would be a hate crime if you killed someone because of their sexual orientation. It would similarly be a hate crime if you killed the local sex offender because he (or she) were a pedophile.

It is not up to the public to be vigilantes. that’s what we have laws, courts and jails for.

I know it goes against your training to provide evidence for your claims, but could you supply a link to the actual text of this legislation? It’s really important to your argument, really it is.

Edit: Okay, I did your work for you. Here is the substantive meat of the text of HR1913 as it stands currently,

"‘(2) OFFENSES INVOLVING ACTUAL OR PERCEIVED RELIGION, NATIONAL ORIGIN, GENDER, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY, OR DISABILITY-

‘(A) IN GENERAL- Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, in any circumstance described in subparagraph (B), willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, a dangerouse weapon, or an explosive or incendiary device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of any person–

‘(i) shall be imprisoned not more than 10 years, fined in accordance with this title, or both; and

‘(ii) shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life, fined in accordance with this title, or both, if–

‘(I) death results from the offense; or

‘(II) the offense includes kidnaping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill."

So all this bill does is prevent your taking the law into your own hands, where it doesn’t belong. Full text of HR1913 here,

Frotteurism – Sounds like assault to me!

Incest – Should not be protected at all, ever, under any circumstances (unless they didn’t know it, but once they know they should have to stop)

Necrophilia – Gross!

Pedophilia – Should not be protected at all, ever, under any circumstances

Voyeurism – I am pretty sure there are laws against peeping toms already.

Zoophilia/Bestiality – This is disgusting.

The rest of them, I could care less about.

Edit: Also, did you intentionally leave heterosexuality in the list or forget to remove it? What you are saying is that none of the listed things deserve protection, so you are saying that straight people shouldn’t get protection either…From your point of view the things listed are "filth." I guess you are never having sex or thinking about haveing sex, ever. right?
