Should unnecessary circumcision of males be illegal?

I am going to state the disadvantages of male circumcision although they are only relevant to this question to those biased and ignorant who believe circumcision is ALWAYS beneficial. I will get onto the ethics a little later.

Some Disadvantages:
1. Unintentional complications in America are estimated around 10% (in countries like Nigeria where circumcision is commonplace it is about 52%)
2. Chaffing (as a circumcised male gets older his glans’ sensitivity is constantly decreased due to chaffing of the penis on underwear. A foreskin prevents this.
3. Reduced penis sensitivity. 20,000+ nerve endings are lost. That is a shit-ton more than on the glans.
4. Loss of mechanical functionality. Penetration for circumcised males required 10-fold more force. Circumcised males are unable to use the "gliding motion". Decreases vaginal dryness. Decreases friction.
5. Premature Ejaculation. Yes, contrary to popular belief premature ejaculation is more common in cut males than uncut. The foreskin impinges against the corona gland is during coitus. The foreskin, therefore, tends to protect the corona gland is from direct stimulation by the vagina of the female partner during coitus. The corona is the most highly innervated part of the glans penis. Removal of the foreskin allows direct stimulation of the corona gland is and this may cause premature ejaculation in some males. The Australian Study of Health and Relationships found that "26% of circumcised men but 22% of uncircumcised men reported reaching orgasm too quickly for at least one month in the previous year."
6. Inability to ejaculate or delayed ejaculation. While some circumcised males may suffer from a tendency toward premature ejaculation, others find that they have great difficulty in ejaculating. The nerves in the foreskin and ridged band are stimulated by stretching, amongst other movements. If those nerves are not present, Money (1983) argues that excision of these stretch receptors by circumcision may make ejaculation take longer.. Some circumcised males may have to resort to prolonged and aggressive thrusting to achieve orgasm. Shen et al. (2004) reported that 32.6 percent of the men in his study reported prolonged intercourse after circumcision. Sensual et al. (2004) reported an appreciable increase in ejaculatory latency time (time to ejaculate). Thorvaldsen & Meyhoff (2005) reported that circumcised males have more difficulty with ejaculation and orgasm. Kim & Pang (2006) reported that circumcised men have more difficulty with masturbation. Solinis & Yiannaki reported that 65 percent of circumcised men in their study reported increased ejaculation time in their study.
7. Loss of sexual pleasure. Denniston reported that some circumcised men would not have the operation again because of loss of sexual pleasure. Kim & Pang (2006) reported that 48 percent of Korean men in a survey experienced loss of mastubatory pleasure after circumcision as compared with 8 percent that experienced increased pleasure and 8 percent reported improved sexual life, but 20 percent reported worsened sexual life. Solinis & Yiannaki reported that 16 percent of the men in their study reported a better sex life after circumcision but 35 percent reported a worsened sex life.
8. Phychological effects. Lots of circumcised males (including me) are angry and upset about being circumcised.
9. Value to female partners. The foreskin has long been known to be valuable to the female partner. The presence of the foreskin is reported to be stimulating to the female. Women are more likely to experience vaginal dryness during sex with a circumcised partner. The unnatural dryness may make coitus painful and result in abrasions. The vaginal dryness may be mistakenly attributed to female arousal disorder. O’Hara & O’Hara report that the female partner is less likely to experience orgasm when the foreskin is not present and more likely to experience orgasm or even multiple orgasms when the foreskin is present. Solinis & Yiannaki found that 46 percent of men in their study reported a worsened sex life for their partner while 33 percent reported that that their partner’s sex life had improved.

Advantages for medically unnecessary circumcisions:
None.

Arguments used by pro-mutilators:
1. "My religion says so"
You are assuming that your religion is correct and not just a made up fairy tale like you think all the other religions are. You must first find scientific evidence for your religion to be valid in any debate. Even then, you’re religion could still be wrong on subjects like circumcision (if we hypothetically assume it to be correct)
2. "It’s cleaner"
If you clean it more than once a month it’l be okay, are you implying that circumcised males don’t clean? EWW
3. "It reduces chances of AIDS from sex."

We don’t live in africa. The same has not been found in studies conducted in 1st and 2nd world countries.
4. "It reduces penile cancer."
You can still get penile cancer when circumcised. The rates of uncircumcised males getting penile cancer are lower than females getting breast cancer. Should we remove breasts at birth? We don’t need them to survive, it would remove breast cancer. The same applies to female circumcision.
5. "Girls like it better." You have not conducted studies on this. We have evidence to believe the contrary is true as previously stated. This is pretty irrelevant as males may find female circumcision better but that is illegal and the infant in question might turn out to be gay anyway.
6. "You might get phimosis."
The vast major
The vast majority of uncircumcised males do not get phimosis, this can be resolved with means other than circumcision. Even if circumcision is neccesary, a full circumcision is not. Also, circumcised males can get phimosis if not enough foreskin is removed anyway.

So we (hopefuly) have established that circumcision is wrong, here are similarities between male and female circumcision. And yes, they are comparable.

Also, there are varying levels of male and female genital modification/mutilation.

Circumcision of hood is not equal to infibulation. They are both wrong. Pro-male-mutilators will commonly argue that comparing male circumcision to infubulation is stupid. But we are not comparing the two. Circumcision of the hood is illegal too.

I am aware that VERY OCCASIONALY SOME males would benefit from circumcision (extreme phimosis). But most do not. This question is directed at circumcision for reasons non-medically beneficial.

Needless to say I am a circumcised male and for some time stayed willfuly ignorant and accepted the unsatisfactory justifications.

I don’t even feel a full human. Needless to say, as a result of circumcision my parents are the people I hate most on this planet. Sorry for the long question, but I felt it needed some supporting evidence.

Argument about the term "sharking".?

OK folks I would like to settle an argument here. There is a term that I just learned called "sharking" and the definition is as follows:

Sharking refers to an act in which the perpetrator sneaks up on a victim, usually female, in a public area and forcefully exposes the victim’s intimate parts before running away. While it has similarities to the common schoolyard prank of pantsing, sharking is done for the sexual stimulation of the perpetrator.

Now I say that for the most part people just do NOT do this. I say yes it has happened of course but this is not something people do too often. My friend says it happens all of the time.

Reference for Bach's "Toccata & Fugue" background?

In my music theory class many years ago, my prof gave us background for T&C in D-minor (the "Phantom of the Opera" organ piece). I could really use a definitive reference for this story.

Supposedly, The Church in those days had banned music in major keys (ionian mode), as they were "known" to elicit "inappropriate feelings" (sexual stimulation). Bach wrote the Vatican, requesting to use majors, claiming something to the effect that any competent composer could elicit any emotion desired in any chosen mode (dorian, phrygian, lydian, etc.). The Vatican denied his request. He responded with "Toccata & Fugue in d-minor".

Can anyone supply good references to support or refute this tale?
Thanks for the suggestion. I did a web search before I came to "Answers". One reference mentions "the Vatican tried to ban it", but that’s the closest I could find.

Lower Left Abdominal/Inguinal & Lower Left Back

Okay so,

Problems: (descriptions of each below)
Pain at lower left abdomen (very base right by inguinal)
Pain in lower left inguinal
Pain in lower left back (Doc said I pointed to sciatic nerve)
Hard time walking on left leg
Stomach tends to get nauseous alot
Body feels weakened/fatigued
Problems with Erections

Desciptions:
Abdominal/Inguinal pains seems to shoot down the "V" on my hip down into the left side of scrotum. Proceeds down that area in between the anus and scrotum whatever that thing is called just on the left side though and then comes up to the lower left side of back where i was told the sciatic nerve runs.

Hard time walking I limp all the time, pain/discomfort always there. Throughout the day pain can vary.

Stomach is pretty consistant with inguinal pain. Zantac150 seems to help sometimes but not always.

Weakness and fatigue: Im sure this can be caused by so many things so Ive been testing my body but it never fails. Ive upped my water intake. I do exercise as frequent as possible but with all this going on its getting to be harder. Ive tried resting a little more. Ive tried changing diet to better foods. I stopped with taking alot of medications I was given. Nothing seems to change it.

Erection Problem: This one is so hard to put my finger on. Whether sexual intercourse with a partner or just masterbation by myself It does not matter. Erections are rarely full erections. They get about half way and then go away within 2 minutes or less. I am comfortable with my partner and Im not depressed or anything. But every once in awhile I do wake up with a full erection like this morning. Then Ill get up and go to bathroom or just get up and within that minute or 2 it goes away quick.

Doctors Reponses:
For the lower abdominal/inguinal the first thing that came up was possibly hernias, cancer, tumors… anything of the sort so they poked and scanned my body Xrays, MRI, Ultrasounds and found nothing out of ordinary.

The stomach constantly being upset they did an upper GI which came back normal and gave me medications to slow or stop acid production. which i take more when it feels needed. Went no where after that..

Weakness and Fatigue the docs did lots of blood tests and took a urine sample to test for diseases or infections this also applies to erection problems.

Erection problems they did some feeling around checked for hernias in scrotum told me that lots of guys have erection problems. Told me my veins feel enlarged and I very possibly have enlarged veins down there.
Now with that being said, they gave me Levitra to test out. Levitra definitely gets me a good erections but they do not stay. With the Levitra it still comes and goes. Tested with sexual stimulation as well. Really dont know what the problem is.

Also this past weekend while showering I found a very small BB sized hard bump under skin near upper left side of scrotum, not one on right side. Havent gotten response from doc, have appt scheduled in few weeks. Its not painful but it definitely irritates the same areas im having problems with lower back and lower inguinal

If any of you have any advice or opinions to offer im open. Ill answer any questions and I do have images from MRI if you are good at looking at those.

thanks for the response, i do appreciate it. but this was definitely the first thing considered when i started going. its not an issue. Im not stressed out. You cant have physical pain in one specific spot in abdomen and inguinal, difficulty walking, chills, not full erections, stomach getting upset all the time, weakness in body and have no answer.
If you like I could go over the list of meds prescribed to me in the past year for all of it. There is something wrong

Over the years my wife and I have had discussions about her lack of interest in sex in terms of frequency and interests. Though the frequency has been acceptable for the past 3 or 4 years, every Sunday night, she still seems to have no interest of exploring other ares of sexuality. We have tried a few things over the years, (my initiation), to spice things up but I have yet to find something that flips her switch. I am sexually open and will do anything for her. Her realm of sexuality is hold and scratch each others body before sex, maybe rub my genitals a little, "to get hings ready", go into intercourse and finish within 5 minutes or so. I have a toolbox that hold a variety of items that "I" have purchased over the years such as tastefully done sexual educational videos on how to’s, (we have the series from Adam & Eve), dildos, vibrators, lubes, fluffy S&M bondage cuffs and a couple of hard core videos. She has never initiated the use of any of the items though she will watch the videos if I suggest and likes the egg vibrator when used between us. She has no desire for self stimulation and seems to only tolerate giving oral to me when I make a rare request but I feel like I am putting her out, (this is for foreplay only and no "finishing" ever). She likes for me to groom her genital area but has never groomed me though I have asked many times. Other than that I really do not know what she likes and how to accommodate her. We have discussed going to a sexual therapist several times and her alone to a therapist to help with her lack of interest but no action has yet been taken. Obviously I am very frustrated and on the verge of filing for a divorce. Our marriage is solid in all other area though we could be more affectionate towards on another but I know these issues are having an effect on my affection towards her and somewhat on my family life. We have no issues with fiances, have two beautiful children, 13 & 15, that are doing well. I am at my wits end.
Just so you know, I am respectful towards her with my requests and expect our intimate activities be to consensual. I feel that a partner should be willing to try different things out of respect and love for the other and it bothers me very much that I have to "beg" for certain things and that it not being done out of love and her knowing what I desire. The past year has been very stressful for me , and her, due to depression and a couple of physical ailments. I have now stopped taking any depression medication and feel for the most part that my health is back to normal. I still experience instances of a fast heartbeat and episodes of frustration/depression that I am positive that the stress is taking a toll on my mental health.
Sorry for running this so long but maybe the details will help me get some answers or suggestions on how others have dealt with this problem.
