Unsatisfying orgasms and arousal issues (female)?

Over the past six months or so I’ve noticed a change in my orgasms, where instead of feeling pleasurable, it just feels like muscle contractions, leaving me unsatisfied and frustrated. I’ve begun seeing a new partner, and we’ve both noticed that I have trouble getting and staying aroused. I’ve never had to use lube before, but now it’s absolutely necessary. I can only go for ten minutes or so before I no longer feel like continuing. It’s extremely frustrating for both of us, and the fact that he can’t bring me to orgasm really upsets him. We’ve tried oral, digital, and using a toy on my clitoris, and each time I can only go for a few minutes before I either become too sore or disinterested.

I am on the antidepressant Celexa for an anxiety disorder, and the Ortho Evra birth control patch, both of which have the possibility of having arousal issues, however, I’ve been on both for over a year with only minimal side effects.

It’s getting to the point where I am so frustrated I’m considering of going off one or both of my medications. Is it probable that one or the other, or the combination of the two, is causing this, or is it just a phase? I’ve heard ginko pills can help counteract the sexual side effects of antidepressants, but haven’t tried them myself, are there any other over the counter remedies that you could recommend?

sexual side effects. my husband is 64 and i just turned 40, up until about a year ago we had a great sex life. he has been on some kind of anti depressant since 1985. he really needs them, but lately we have noticed an inability to climax or if he does it takes sooooooooooo long to get there. He stopped the prozac 40 mgs and within two weeks our sex life was great again, but soon thereafter he became depressed and irritable, then i finally cslled his doc and got him back on prozax starting with 20mgs and our sex life was still good, but eventually the same problem occcured. then his doc put him on lexipro and added klonapin, well not only did he have a difficult time reaching orgsasm then he began to experience erectile dysfunction. having enough of no sex, he stopped the lexapro and for about two weeks we had the best sex ever, but the long half life ended and he became the most irriitable, irrational man, he was biting everyones head off. he does have a very stressful job, we both d
we began fighting over little things, arguing all the itme, he was always tired, NEVER EVEN IN TH EMOOD FOR SEX, SO THE POINT WAS DEFEATED he lost all desire, never initiated sex and when i did he had no interest, ion the rare occasion we did he could achive orgasm quickly but there was no intimacy, no emotionsa connection. i could not live like that anymore so back to the doc, noe he is back on the lexipro, still on all his other jmeds for high blood pressure, heart medication, ambien to sleep hydrocodone for pain, xanax for anxiety and now chantix -he did quit smoking. he has slowly returned to his fun pklayful self, also added provigil for narcelepsy, but we have not tried to be intimate yet, it has been two weeks. i am just so happy to have him bag, we cuddlle, we kiss we touch we talk etc. i am just wondering if there is an anti depressant out there that does not cause such serious side effects, taking into account all the other meds he has to take. any help greatly appreciated,

Can synthroid cause erectile dysfunction?

I am a 38 year old male with hypothyroidism I have had great results with Synthroid, but the side effects leave me unable to perform sexually. I have also tried natural thyroid replacement, no sexual side effects but do not feel good on that medication. Any man with this problem? Please reply. SSRI sexual side effects?

Due to my anger, panic attacks, and depression I apparently need to take some form of medication. I have been prescribed an SSRI twice, but the first time I quit taking it after only a few days. I quit because I noticed I could not get an erection. I then did some research and found out that erectile dysfunction can be caused by SSRIs and can also be permanent even after treatment has stopped. I got another prescription since I am just getting worse, but I can’t bring myself to take it knowing that the effects may be long-lasting. Is there any information about these effects that maybe I haven’t come across? I’m completely torn between potentially not having panic attacks daily and the risk of sexual dysfunction. Thank you!!

Help with sexual side effects of Prozac?

I heard of supplement called "Potency Super" that is supposed to help with this, the trouble is that I cannot find it anywhere. It causes erectile dysfunction for me and it takes forever to ejaculate (mainly I am concerned about the E.D. part of it though), is there any other supplement that will help me out or can someone help find me this product?

Paxil Questions…Does splitting dosage help sexual side effects?? Is 15 mg effective?

I’ve been on paxil 7.5 mg. for a while…and I’m still feeling very anxious and shaky …I’m about to go on 15 mg and not 20 because the sexual side effects are too bad at 20…but I was wondering if anyone knows if splittling my dosage of 15 mg by doing 7.5 in the morning and 7.5 at night will help alleviate sexual dysfunction? I experienced that on 20 mg paxil…Also, will 15 have a drastic impact compared to 7.5?

Is it Possible if your taking half of a Lowest SSRis anti deppressant dose that you can still get PSSD which?

Is post SSRi Sexual dysfunction. Do the Pharmacutical companies care to make a pill That doesn’t have Notorious sexual side effects. I am on Half of the lowest Luvox dose and still get sexual side effects on such a Tiny winy dose. I showed the PSSD page on Wikipedia to my psychiatrist, who has been in the business for a long while and hasn’t even heard of PSSD! Which is "Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction".

Basically everyone who has complained about this side effect being irreversible, responsible for writing that Wikipedia article, along with buggered medical professionals who wrote an essay or two about it, are member of the Yahoo support group.

It does sound like a coincidence to me.

This whole thing frustrates me because I need to take Zoloft for OCD, but I have these *possible* losers, who are discouraging people from taking the medication who really need it, like myself. I just don’t know what to do; my psychiatrist basically said "How many causes of sexual dysfunction are there? Something to blame for these people? Perhaps unintentionally?"

Frankly, if this thing with "PSSD" holds no merit, then the few medical journals about it and that Wikipedia article which states it as fact, with a fancy name and abbreviation to it too, should be taken off. They can keep their precious little support group for the next loser who wants to blame SSRI’s for their ongoing sexual dysfunction.

Damn, see how torn up I am about this? These people have created DOUBT and doubt is sometimes all a person needs to not do something, even something he knows he SHOULD be doing. I’ll probably end up taking it anyway, but if I do, I’ll have this constant fear because of these *possible* impotent losers who are saying all this.

I get depressed quite often and I am now thinking of seeing my doctor about getting anti-depressants. I am really shy and don’t like seeing the doctor unless I really need to.

I’d like to know how common sexual side effects (such as erectile dysfunction and lower se drive) occur with SSRI’s and whether changing from one anti-depressant to another would reduce side effects if they did occur.

I have OCD, depression and severe headaches(Neuralgia) for which i am taking clomipramine and lyrica . Both cause sexual dysfunction (problems with desire, libido, erection, orgasm, ejaculation). Especially problematic is that i cant have orgasm (while i masturbate) even if i continue masturbating for 1 hour !! My marriage is only one maonth away. i am v worried. Have tried Ginseng, horny goat weed, yohimbe bark etc with not much benefit
i have also tried Maca Root (The worlds strongest aphrodesiac) but with poor results. The only option seems to be that i stop all me medications two days prior to the wedding night, so that i can have good sex atleast on the wedding night.
by the way, mine is an arranged marriage (arranged by our parents with my consent). (I am not an american). We have seen each others pics and spoken on phone only. we hardly know each other. she knows about my medications but not about their sexual side effects
