I think you're getting a little bit fascist.

And if you include HPV in that, you be stopping about 80% of the population from having sex.

Considering one in five US adults are infected with the Herpes virus, it's almost impossible to blame someone for infecting you and to prove without a reasonable doubt that in the past several months to years before the outbreak (it can take a long time to show symptoms) you did not engage in any sexual activity with anyone else. On the other hand Aids is less common and easier to pin point to someone so if someone KNOWINGLY infects another person with aids, then there are already laws that they will go to jail and there are cases of people with aids serving life terms in prison for this.

I am a retired nurse epidemiologist and counselor. In my state if a person knows they have HIV, HPV, Herpes, Syphilis are punishable by law if they don't tell a sex partner. If it is gonorrhea, chlamydia, PID, BV or Trich there is no legal recourse as these STDs are not life threatening. In fact you get so sick you go to the E.R to get checked out and given medicine to clear it up.

This should probably be posted in philosophy or politics but anyhow...

In my opinion, there are several reasons this does not happen:

1) this is similar to eugenics. Why not sterilize people with illnesses like multiple sclerosis so that they can't perpetuate the disease? I think any reasonable person can realize how unethical that would be, for the government to limit who can reproduce.

2) No such elaborate tracking system exists. Also, we do have severe punishments for willfully spreading diseases like HIV. If you know that you are positive, and you have unprotected sex without informing them, you have committed a crime. This is illegal, you can look it up.

3) We already have a system which prevents almost all STI's if implemented properly. Its called a condom. Also, limiting your sexual partners and not having random sex helps too. Really, it's not difficult to avoid STD's.

4) Human rights watchdogs would be down the throat of any government if they decided to implement such a system. Also, a large portion of the population will contract and STD in their lifetime, thus voting for such a law would not only likely be a violation of basic human rights, It would be political suicide.

Furthermore, it would serve as a basis to pass more laws with gross invasions of privacy. There are actually many many reasons why they would never do such a thing in a developed country.

I dont think that it is fair to stop people from enjoying or having a healthy sex life just because they have an STD. What if someone has contracted Genital Herpes through an oral cold sore, or if someone was raped and contracted HIV? I don't think it is anyones right to decide wether they should not have sex anymore. But I do strongly agree that people with HIV/AIDS or any other STD should tell their partner before engaging any sexual activity.

It is illegal i most states and a felony punishable by sometimes life in prison. One girl in Nevada got life for knowingly spread AIDS to her partners to get even with men. She infected something like ten or fifteen men.
Most kids don't realize it or don't care but, as soon as people wake up and realize they are threatening the world population with illnesses that are harmful, it won't do any good. If I got infected, I would go straight to the health department and from there to file a police report against the person involved, then the court.
it wouldn't take long and soon enough people would use the protection that's there in a drug store for a few bucks.

it's illegal to have a std or hiv and not tell the person you are having sex with. thats definatly not allowed. but if someone knows your infected and decides to have sex with you thats obviouslly gonna be there fault... i have hsv 1. herpes doesnt mean i cant have sex. in fact i dont now why i am answering a dumb question lol... if u caught something its ur fault for not wrapin it up. cus ur pertner could have hpv herpes and not even know it. u have some learnin nd growin up to do if thats what u think. u r extremily worried so if i was u i just wouldnt have sex cus more then half america is sick anyways. i only had sex with one person my whole life is it fair to say we cant have normal lives? no so just stay sex free if ur that paronoid that u think people should be monitered and walk around with a sign on there forhead saying i have aids.. i have herpes.. i have this and that etc... in all actuality it is ur job to protect ur own self so if u want u can always take ur partner to get tested for dieases with you or something. aint nothing wrong with being extra safe. but it is something wrong with ur mind mentality of thinking sweetie.
